How Much Can a Homeowner Earn?
Low – Moderate Income (LMI) Households:
Up to $8,000* Upfront Rebate
For qualifying low-to-moderate income (LMI) households committing 10 kW of battery capacity.
Non-LMI Households:
Up to $4,000* Upfront Rebate
Available for households committing 10 kW of battery capacity.

LMI Eligibility:
- You are installing a battery + solar system
- You can commit to discharging energy 6–8 PM daily
- Your household income is below 140% AMI (for LMI bonus)

Backup Power Commitment
Choose how much of your battery you want to commit to the program — from 1 to 5 kW per battery.

Save & Earn
Hawaiian Electric pays a $2,000 upfront incentive per battery. This incentive doubles for households that qualify as Low to Moderate Income (LMI). Additionally, energy dispatched from your battery(ies) during the 6_8 PM window will be credited at the full retail rate.
